ATC Team MembersErin Potts is ATC’s Executive Director. Erin's work in her early twenties to create the Tibetan Freedom Concerts with the Beastie Boys brought international awareness, mobilized hundreds of popular musicians, raised over $5 million, and turned tens of thousands of young people into activists for Tibet. A decade later, Erin continues to work with musicians and other cultural leaders. She is an expert in cultural communications and strategies, and has a passion for engaging new audiences and innovating nonprofit activities. Deyden Tethong is ATC’s Information Director. Since her time as the Education Director for The Milarepa Foundation and The Tibetan Freedom Concerts Deyden has focused on connecting the dots between youth activism, popular culture, politics, and social issues and expanding them to include essential elements of youth culture: art, fashion, music, media and technology. She has created and produced strategic multi-media campaigns, events, web and print materials, and international Public Service Announcements. Jamie Paratore is ATC's Project Coordinator. She understands the needs and challenges of cause-related efforts having worked in a variety of support positions within the non-profit world and has been recognized for her exceptional organizational skills. She also has a background in sociology and social research, working on various academic and professional research projects over the last five years. Her areas of interest include music and activism, music business, youth engagement in social movements and sociological research. Board MembersBertis Downs, esq., first became involved in ATC after attending an ATC workshop in New York City on behalf of REM, after which he referred many artists and organizations to ATC. Bertis is the manager of the rock band REM, and also an attorney and Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia’s Law School, where he teaches classes in Entertainment Law and Music Law. Kelly Curtis is the founder and owner of Curtis Management. Kelly is the manager of the rock band Pearl Jam. Jordan Kurland is manager of Death Cab for Cutie, Bob Mould, Postal Service and other independent rock musicians. Jordan is also the founder of Noise Pop Industries, producers of indie rock events throughout the country. Nicole Vandenberg (ATC Founder) is the owner of Vandenberg Communications. With more than a decade of public relations and public affairs experience, Nicole’s work has focused on media relations, community relations, crisis communications, strategic philanthropy and special events for clients in arts and entertainment, business, nonprofit and government. Among her firm’s past and current clients are: Pearl Jam, Vote for Change, Music for America, Gloria Steinem, Tell Us The Truth Tour, Choice USA, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s Groundwork 2001, People for the American Way, The Songbird Foundation, and Voters for Choice. Ian Rogers, Chief Executive Officer of Topspin, is a music and technology industry veteran with roots in defining the way artists and consumers promote and experience digital media online. Rogers has been building digital media applications since 1992. He created one of the first music-related Web sites and built many of the original promotional sites for the music and movie industries. Kathy Kane is the founder, Board Chair and Executive Director of ARIA – Artistic Resources In Action. Started in 1998, ARIA facilitates music industry philanthropy and helps nonprofits work more effectively with the music industry. ARIA is the home for Bonnie Raitt and Kane's Green Highway festival, has served as a mentor and fiscal sponsor to Reverb, coordinated nonprofit groups at festivals like Woodstock ’99, and held benefit concerts for crisis situations like post hurricane New Orleans. Most recently, ARIA “greened” the Beastie Boys’ 2007 tour. Kane has worked with a diverse range of organizations and clients including the Wetlands venue, Rainforest Action Network, HORDE Festival, and Greenpeace. She is currently Bonnie Raitt’s manager and C.O.O. of her company.
